Student Server Remote Access

Remote Access

All students that have a home Internet connection may now access your Student network folder from home.  For Macs, it's called AFP, and for Windows it's called SFTP, both are protocols that are more secure than FTP.  With AFP or SFTP you may download and upload files to your Student-Server folder from home.  Please note, we do not support home Internet connections.  Please contact your ISP for technical support related to your home Internet connection.  Below are basic instructions for different operating systems: GOOD LUCK! (Important: Windows users must tell Mr. McCoy to enable SFTP on your account first!)

Mac OSX: FREE , Built into OS.

1. From YOUR Mac, click on the desktop and locate the Go menu at the top of your screen.

2. Click the Go menu, and select Connect to Server...

3. Enter "student.gatewayhigh.org" into the Server Address field on the window that now appears (minus the quotes).

4. Enter your username and password to login.
