1. Who is the appropriate contact person in the Learning Center if my student has a learning disability but does not have an IEP?

2. Who is the appropriate contact person in the Learning Center if my student has an IEP?
3. Is Gateway the appropriate placement for a child transitioning from a Special Day Class or from an Inclusion Program?
- Based on our experience, we have found that students who have successfully transitioned from SDC to RSP for a minimum of 3 months prior to enrolling at Gateway are most successful.
4. Who do I call if I want my child to receive accommodations on tests and exams or if I want my child to receive accommodations on standardized tests?
- If your child has an IEP, you should contact your grade-level RSP.
- If your child has a learning disability but does not have an IEP, you should contact Ashley Hager, Learning Center Director x27
- Ashley Hager is the contact person for all questions regarding questions about SAT or ACT accommodations.
5. What are the benefits of receiving an IEP?
- Students with IEPs are eligible to receive the accommodation outlined in their IEP including: access to a reader or scribe for tests, paraprofessional help in the classroom, and/or participation in a study skills class.
6. How do I go about getting my child tested for a learning disability? What does the IEP process involve and how long does it take?
