"At Gateway we really do educate students and families about college choices. I have the opportunity to spend so much time with my students and push them and their families to check out options they would not otherwise have considered. We have, together, found the right matches and good college 'homes' for our students." -- Gateway College Counselor

The Gateway academic program is designed to provide a quality college preparatory education to a diverse group of students, including a significant number with learning differences. It is our view that a college education is an essential ingredient to be part of the American Dream.

Through the Gateway college counseling program and its counselor, Gateway prepares our students, including our learning disabled population, for higher education and life beyond high school. At Gateway we look beyond graduation day by working with our students to help them view college as a necessary and attainable goal, seek out and apply to appropriate programs and prepare for its academic challenges. All students take two full semesters of college preparation -- during their second semester of junior year and first semester of senior year. In these classes, students prepare for the SAT and ACT, research college options, and receive guidance and support through the college application process.

Gateway thanks the the Pottruck Family Foundation, the Helen & Paul O'Dell Foundation, The Morris Stulsaft Foundation and our many friends and supporters for enabling us to offer such a vibrant enriching counseling program.
