Dear Gateway Families,
Thank you for your partnership in making sure that your child has every opportunity to be academically successful at Gateway and beyond. This webpage is a resource for you if you received notice that your student needs to repeat course work due to receiving either a D or F grade while at Gateway. It is important in order to remain on track for Gateway graduation and to remain eligible for colleges within the UC and CSU systems. In some cases, classes can be made up during the following year at Gateway. However, often it is better to remediate the class during the summer. Due to State budget cuts, summer school options are very limited this summer of 2010 – SFUSD has cancelled nearly its entire program. We have put together the following list of summer schools in order to help you with this process. We recognize that these options can be expensive and that the process is complicated. We will be following up in order to help you weigh your options and come up with a workable plan for your child and family.
Sincerely, Ms. Angela Grimes, A.P.
