Justin Chen, a Gateway High School Senior, is currently interning in the Communications Department of Gateway Public Schools. As part of his training, he has been tasked with covering topics pertinent to the high school community. This is the first in the series.

Mr. Kelley was quite moved by his introduction by Gateway Middle School students Sabrin Naji and Alejandro Palos. As he took to the stage, he choked up and he declared that their welcome was "the best introduction" he's ever had.

Good news! On Tuesday evening, the SFUSD Board of Education approved a change to the Gateway High School charter that includes a preference for Gateway Middle School students in Gateway High School's lottery.

Last night students, teachers, parent/guardians, and staff stood in solidarity to ask the SFUSD Board of Education to consider an admission preference for Gateway Middle School Students into Gateway High School.

On August 14th, Gateway High School's incoming 9th Graders took their requisite trip to UC Berkeley. College is the expectation at Gateway High School, and that expectation starts early. Bonus: they're a really super group of kids!‪ #‎CollegePrep‬
